Back to it! 2026

Hi artsy friends!

It has been a long while since my last post and oof, I've been through a lot but I seem to be on the other side of the three years full of medical stuff and am so excited to get back to my art more! I might do some posts about the experiences because it's a part of my story aand a lot of what I go through, I process with art. I also share to help others who are going through something similar feel not so alone and maybe even get a few insights from my experiences to make things easier.

As I switch gears, I have been focusing on creating a life/work/family balance that is hopefully more sustainable and allows me to follow my curiousity and joy while providing for my family. I've been working hard on a deep clean of my home (you know, those boxes you haven't touched in storage from the move nine years ago or alllll the medical gear that built up while having surgeries) and it has felt wonderful! Starting with a fresh page has helped me find more clarity (my word of the year!). Going forward in 2026, I'll have three main focuses for my artwork:

Art of Christy

The umbrella label for all my creations and my official tax business name. A lot of the work I have in bookshops or museum gift shops goes under this title and includes items like prints, stickers, pins, my coloring book and the like. I also have been delving into getting my art on tea towels and tshirts.

Christy Grace Fine Art

This collection of work tends to be paintings and drawing that are more time intensive and sometimes more personal. My fine art often touches on physical and mental health, the natural world, science, and now healing! My goal is to use this site to better represent the pieces I have for sale and work on finding homes for those works while creating new ones.

Good Niche Co.

Good Niche is the newest branch from Art of Christy and is a clothing and accessories company with a focus on the intersection of art and science! It all started with wanting a toad skirt and not finding one and from there has blossomed into painting pictures of unusual flora and fauna, making patterns with those paintings, and then getting the fabric printed to create items like skirts, shirts, scarves, flowy cardigans, keychains, and tea towels. Good Niche has attended some Scaled Up! reptile shows in Madison, WI and will be continuing this year and adding more events (hopefully all indoor) like the Big Gay Pride Market.

More to come but thank you for all the support and encouragement and for sticking with me as I evolve as a person and an artist. Wishing you all joy, love, and hope, even while the world is not an easy place to be!
